Why I Am Loving Astro

Over the past month and half, I’ve cometo enjoy using Astro much more than I would have ever imagined. It really does bring back memories of the days of where having a static website made so much more sense over some bloated CMS that clients would never use.

I’ve made it no secret that I have never really enjoyed working with JavaScript or it’s syntax in the past. It’s one of the reason why I’ve worked exclusivity in the WordPress ecosystem for a long time because it just works and to be honest, PHP really was the first language I understood and it seemed to clicked with me. There was also LINGO and Action Script, which I was good at as well but sadly those languages have gone extinct long ago.

Then Along Came Astro

While I have been trying to make this website for the better part of a few years (over thought it on the design aspect) in my off time, I came across a tweet about some static site generator named Astro. I took to Youtube to watch a few tutorials and was pretty much hooked. I pretty much slowly over the course of when Astro 2.x was released to Astro 4.x just build my site in my off time. I was honestly in no rush to get this website up and running but the last few months have really made a difference as I feel I am starting to click more with things.

The great thing I am enjoying about this project is when I went to rediscover React, I found following it to be THAT MUCH easier than I would have imagined. It also helps that I am reviewing React in a less stressed environment where I don’t need to give an answer to someone that very day on something I’m not familiar with it. I’ve found the articles and videos on these subjects to have gotten a lot better and the React documents themselves seem to be miles better than they used be.

Thanks again @Astro for making me enjoy web building again.
